Combat Air Museum is on J Street, hangar 602, along the flight line of Topeka Airport Forbes Field. This museum exhibits examples of aeronautical technology from all U.S. military conflicts from the early 1900s to the present, including aircraft and memorabilia. Among the more than 30 aircraft on display are an EC-121 Super Constellation, a Blue Angels F-11F Tiger, a Beech RU-8D and Meyers OTW, an F-14 Tomcat and a JN4 “Jenny” biplane. Another exhibit re-creates a German prisoner of war barracks. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
$6; $4 (ages 5-17 and military with ID).
Hours: Mon.-Sat. 9-4:30, Sun. noon-4:30, Mar.-Dec.; daily noon-4:30, rest of year. Last admission 1 hour before closing. Closed Jan. 1, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
