Gage Park occupies 160 acres between S.W. Sixth Ave. and Tenth St. on Gage Blvd. A conservatory, a zoo, a children's museum, gardens and a miniature train are among its attractions; recreational facilities include the Blaisdell Family Aquatic Center, tennis courts and a playground. Across from the Reinisch Rose Garden in the park, a restored 1908 carousel with a Wurlitzer organ is open to the public. Helen Hocker Center for the Performing Arts presents family-oriented plays and musicals as well as dance and music performances. A free concert series is offered Sunday evenings June through July.
