AAA Editor Notes
Exploration Place, at 300 N. McLean Blvd., has hands-on exhibits exploring such topics as flight, medieval life, health and Kansas. Changing exhibits also are featured. In Exploring Flight & Design, visitors can fly a horizontal simulator like the Wright brothers once did or climb into a Cessna Skycatcher.
Exploring Our Only Home allows visitors to experience an F2 tornado and examine a sea turtle fossil from the sea that once covered Kansas. Featuring a three-story stone castle, the Where Kids Rule area gives children the opportunity to launch a catapult or build a bridge across a moat.
Digitally-produced shows are presented on a 60-foot, 360-degree screen in the Boeing Dome Theater and Planetarium. A playground, miniature golf course and recreation paths are offered at the outdoor Exploration Park during summer.
Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
