Civil War Museum of the Western Theater, 310 E. Broadway, has artifacts and photographs from Civil War battles fought in the western theater of Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi and Missouri. Exhibits display rare flags, uniforms, medical instruments, maps, artillery and weapons. Galleries are devoted to the infantry, cavalry and navy. A campsite featuring a wagon used during the conflict depicts battlefield life. The complex includes the Pioneer Village, the Women's Civil War Museum, the War Memorial of Mid-America and the Wildlife Museum. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
Admission, valid for 2 consecutive days, $10; $5 (ages 6-15).
Hours: Daily 10-5, Mar.-Oct.; Fri.-Sun. 10-5, in Nov. Closed Thanksgiving.
