Patton Museum, 4554 Fayette Ave., is named for World War II general George S. Patton. Displays include German and Japanese war artifacts, an extensive collection of U.S. and foreign tanks and weapons, and mementos of Patton’s military career, including his wartime caravan truck and the sedan in which he was fatally injured in 1945.
A nearby park traces the history of armored vehicles with examples from World War I through Operation Iraqi Freedom. Battle re-enactments using World War II vehicles and equipment take place Memorial Day weekend and July 4.
