John James Audubon State Park, n. on US 41, is a memorial to John James Audubon, naturalist, ornithologist and artist, who lived in Henderson for 9 years. It is both a nature preserve and a public park with a nine-hole golf course. Nature trails provide views of 150 varieties of wildflowers. A 28-acre lake offers fishing opportunities.
