AAA Editor Notes
Lincoln Statue, in the Hodgenville public square, is the work of A.A. Weinmann, a pupil of American sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The bronze statue depicts the president seated with his head bowed in thought. The 6-foot-high figure, mounted on a 12-foot pedestal, was dedicated in 1909 during the centennial anniversary of Lincoln’s birth.
Situated with the Abraham Lincoln statue in the town square, the Boy Lincoln statue, dedicated in 2008, is a bronze life-size depiction of 7-year-old Lincoln leaning against an old tree trunk reading a copy of Webster's Elementary Spelling Book.
