AAA Editor Notes
Oldham County History Center, at 106 N. Second Ave., is listed with the National Park Service National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom. The county’s history is interpreted through artifacts and exhibits displayed in four historic buildings, including a root cellar. Highlights include contributions of locals such as Poet Laureate of Freemasonry Rob Morris, author Annie Fellows Johnson, movie pioneer D.W. Griffith and abolitionist Henry Bibb. Other exhibits include items from the Kentucky State Reformatory, oral histories from World War II veterans, objects from rural life and information from the National Park Service Junior Ranger and Passport Stamp programs. .
