Boone Station State Historic Site is off I-75 exit 104, 1.8 mi. s.e. on SR 418/Athens Boonesborough Rd., just n. on N. Baxter Blvd., then .2 mi. e. to 240 Gentry Rd. Established in 1779 by frontiersman Daniel Boone and his family shortly after they left the Boonesborough settlement, this site was home to as many as 20 families in the years that followed. By 1791, however, it was uninhabited. A 1-mile self-guiding trail also is on the premises.

Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
