Muhammad Ali Center, downtown at 144 N. 6th St. between Main St. and River Rd., is a cultural attraction and education center inspired by the ideals of the heavyweight boxing champion, humanitarian, peace activist, United Nations Messenger of Peace and Louisville native. The center's two-and-a-half levels feature exhibits spotlighting the core values that Ali embraced: respect, confidence, conviction, dedication, giving and spirituality. Visitors may train in an interactive boxing area, explore Ali’s career achievements and motivations at the five-screen Orientation Theater, survey the history of the Civil Rights era, watch Ali fight footage and seek inspiration at the 55-foot-long Hope & Dream wall, consisting of artwork created by children from around the world. Two art galleries showcase changing art and photography exhibits.
