Lincoln Homestead State Park, 5.5 mi. n. via SR 528, is on 325 acres. On the grounds are replicas of the log cabin boyhood home of Abraham Lincoln’s father Thomas and of the blacksmith and carpenter shops where he learned his trade. Displays include tools and artifacts and furniture made by Thomas Lincoln. Also on the grounds are the restored home Nancy Hanks lived in for 14 years before marrying Thomas, a golf course and a fishing lake.
Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
