Old Mulkey Meeting House State Historic Site is 2 mi. s. on SR 1446 off SR 100. The meetinghouse, on a 60-acre site, is said to be the oldest of its kind in the state and the oldest church in southern Kentucky. The 12 corners of the 1804 church are reputed to represent the 12 Apostles and its three doors, the Trinity. Its construction is of hand-hewn logs and chinking.
Daniel Boone’s sister Hannah is buried in the churchyard, as are some pioneers and soldiers of the Revolutionary War. Digital interpretation as well as a playground and picnic areas are available.
Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted.
