LSU Museum of Art is on the fifth floor of the Shaw Center for the Arts at 100 Lafayette St. The museum, which overlooks the Mississippi River, contains more than 6,000 works highlighted in galleries featuring American and British portraiture, decorative arts, landscape painting, New Orleans silver coins, American Arts and Crafts pottery and Chinese jade as well as contemporary works from Southern artists. Changing exhibitions from the permanent collection are rotated throughout the year.
Educational programs are offered. Guided gallery tours are available by appointment (minimum 10 people).
