Pros: Virtually everything at this hotel was great. I slept more soundly than I did at home and I felt that my things and my vehicle were safe. The parking lot is well lit and the facility had a security guard. The room was very modern and the bed was extremely comfortable. I was happily satisfied that the internet photos were what I received upon our arrival. The hotel is a straight shot south of Business U.S. Hwy 90 on Manhattan Blvd. so it was easy to get to our destinations in and around downtown New Orleans. Further, the hotel is basically next door to Copeland's of New Orleans and our meal there was delicious--I definitely recommend this restaurant. Finally, the staff was very kind, professional, and accommodating during our stay and both check-in and check-out were quick and simple.
Cons: There was a problem with the ventilation in our bathroom--specifically, we could hear our neighbors very clearly while they were having conversations, listening to their radio, etc.. We shut the bathroom door to eliminate the problem while we weren't using the bathroom, but for a hotel of this caliber, this was a really unexpected defect. I do not think that the people in the next room would appreciate having their privacy invaded by us and we made every attempt not to listen in. We reported the issue to the front desk, but a structural problem must be difficult to remedy and we stayed during a peak occupancy time. I sincerely hope that this hotel can eliminate this problem because the staff--everyone from the cleaning crew to the on-site managers--clearly tries to provide top of the line service.
