AAA Editor Notes
Chennault Aviation & Military Museum, 701 Kansas Ln., is housed in one of the last remaining buildings from the World War II-era Selman Field Army-Air Force Navigation School. Exhibits—including weapons, uniforms, medals, photographs and other relics—document everything from World War I to Vietnam to current military conflicts.

Displays in the Chennault Room highlight the accomplishments of Monroe resident Lt. Gen. Claire Lee Chennault, a prominent American pilot best known as the leader of the “Flying Tigers” fighter group. More than five restored aircraft and pieces of military equipment are on the grounds.

Guided tours are available.
