French Market District is located between St. Peter and Barracks sts., from Jackson Square to the Old U.S. Mint. Encompassing six blocks on the river side of the lower French Quarter and Crescent Park, a 20-acre urban linear park, this commercial hub features more than 40 retail shops, performance venues, scenic walkways, public art, restaurants and cafés, an open-air farmers and flea market, and three parking lots. Historic landmarks include Washington Artillery Park, the Joan of Arc statue at New Place de France, Dutch Alley, The Upper Pontalba apartment buildings and LaTrobe Park.
