New Orleans Botanical Garden is on Victory Ave. in City Park. Entry is through the Oscar J. Tolmas Building, 5 Victory Ave. Designed during the Art Deco and WPA periods, the garden is arranged in a series of rooms accented with fountains and statuary. More than 2,000 varieties of plants include azaleas, camellias, magnolias, palms and roses. The train garden showcases New Orleans neighborhoods and architectural styles on a small scale. The conservatory features a tropical rain forest and a living fossil exhibit. The Helis Foundation Enrique Alférez Sculpture Garden also is on the grounds.
