New Orleans School of Cooking is at 524 St. Louis St., between Decatur and Chartres sts. Cooking demonstrations are offered in an early 19th-century renovated molasses warehouse. Chefs teach Creole/Cajun cuisine including dishes such as gumbo, jambalaya and pralines and flavor lessons with local history and legends. Classes include meals and recipes.
$32.50 (morning demonstration class), $28 (afternoon demonstration class). Hands-on class $139. Reservations are required.
