AAA Inspector Notes
A six building complex clustered around a lush central courtyard creates a communal environment. The exterior exudes a historic New Orleans feel yet the room décor features more contemporary touches. It is located on the St. Charles streetcar line and parade route, near some top restaurants. Privileges at a nearby gym are available to guests, which offers cardio and weight training equipment, as well as a variety of classes. Gated parking makes one feel a bit more secure. Smoke free premises. 130 units, some two bedrooms. 2-3 stories, interior/exterior corridors.

Pros: The staff were all super friendly and I would come back just for that service. The rooms were comfortable for the purpose of sleeping, which is really all your doing in them while in New Orleans. I read somewhere that they weren't super clean but ours was fine. If you can't stay in the French Quarter, then I think this location was great! Just 1 stop on the trolly to canal street and only 3 dollars for a 24 hr pass on the trolly, which btw stops directly across the street from hotel. Breakfast had hot and cold options and was very filling. It was a great value for the location.

Pros: Location- lots of bars nearby. Trolley tracks/stop out the front door. Hotel attached to Mr. Ed's (good place to eat- get a coupon for free bread pudding- delicious!). Away from French Quarter. Convention in town so Hotels were hard to find- it was reasonably priced for the dates we stayed. It had breakfast, good coffee- breakfast is what you would expect from a budget-type hotel. Lady in charge of Breakfast was helpful and took pride in her work. Pool was small but okay. Reception Desk personnel were professional and willing to help. A/C was EXCELLENT and you controlled it- so your room was refreshing after a hot walk in NO.
Cons: Back of bed hasn't been vacuumed in a long time. Loose tiles near bathroom. Very thin walls- you can hear anyone around you using the shower. Towel rack had no bar. One of the beds sagged, would not have been comfortable for 2 people. Television reception is spotty for many channels. Book in advance- a couple was told the walk in rate was over $200 a night. Hotel would be compared to upgraded Hotel 6.

Pros: The room was large and spacious!
Cons: The bathrooms weren't cleaned good if they were cleaned at all. There was toothpaste where the person stayed in it before all over the sink, faucets and mirror in the bathroom. The shower hadn't been cleaned it was dirty and hair all in it. The backs of the toilets were filthy and didn't looked to be cleaned either. The floors didn't appear to be vacuumed or swept.
