AAA Inspector Notes
This 1857 landmark blends 21st-century conveniences with Old World charm. Lush courtyards offer spots to relax and socialize. Fitness center privileges are available at a nearby hotel. The building was originally built in 1859 as the St. James Hotel. Over the years it has been a commodities exchange, a military hospital during the Civil War and a meeting place for the early plotters of the Texas Revolution. The tiny pool is more suitable for soaking rather than swimming. A light complimentary breakfast can be delivered to your room on request. Smoke free premises. 84 units. 4 stories, interior corridors. Accessibility (Call).

Pros: I liked that the hotel was in walking distance of Bourbon Street. Parking and unloading was easy as well.
Cons: We were not aware of the extensive renovations. The elevator was broken and I had to walk three flights of stairs with a fractured spine. Our air was broken, so our room was 78 degrees all night. It was MISERABLE. Our problems were ignored.

Pros: There isn't anything other than the walking distance of the location to the French Quarter I liked best about the hotel.
Cons: I did not like the unwillingness of the staff to a commodity to my veteran needs on a "busy" weekend. They would rather make more money.

Pros: good location, close to French quarters. Room decor was quaint and nice. The Helping staff who assisted with luggage was nice
Cons: Elevator broken, had to climb 3 floors all the time. steep Valet Parking fees (45 $ per night before tax), ran out of breakfast . Nowhere close to the standard I expected.

Pros: We loved the quaintness of our rooms. The lobby was lovely, as were the courtyards.
Cons: It was under construction, but did not impact our stay. The location was perfect for our needs.
