AAA Editor Notes
Forts Randolph & Buhlow State Historic Site, 135 Riverfront St., is on the banks of the Red River. An elevated boardwalk takes visitors over the remains of Forts Randolph and Buhlow, two earthwork fortifications built to protect central Louisiana from Union attacks during the Red River Campaign of 1864. Also on the grounds is a visitor center with exhibits. A scenic overlook of the Red River is near the site of Bailey's Dam.
Guided tours are available.
