The Myrtles Plantation is 1 mi. n. of jct. US 61 and SR 10 at 7747 US 61. During the daytime tour of the 1796 plantation, guests may view such features as Baccarat crystal chandeliers, a stained glass entrance door, gilded French furniture, Aubusson tapestries, Carrara marble mantles and a 10-acre garden with live oaks. Evening visitors are regaled with legends of apparitions during the guided mystery tour of the plantation. The reputedly haunted historical home has been the subject of numerous paranormal investigations and has appeared on such television shows as “Ghost Hunters” and “Unsolved Mysteries.” Guided tours are available. Food is available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
Daytime history tour $10; $7 (ages 0-12). Mystery tour $15; advance ticket purchase is required.
Hours: Daily 9-5. Guided history tours depart every half-hour. Guided mystery tours depart Fri.-Sat. on the hour 6-8 p.m. Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas.
