AAA Editor Notes
Whitney Plantation, 5099 SR 18, depicts slave history through exhibits, artwork and restored buildings. Lasting 1.5 hours, walking tours emphasize the day-to-day lives of slaves who lived and worked on the grounds. Guides lead visitors through the historic Antioch Baptist Church, built by former slaves after the Civil War; several outbuildings; the slave quarters; and the well-preserved, late 18th-century Big House.

A welcome center with interpretive displays is on-site, as are several memorials, including the Wall of Honor, Allées Gwendolyn Midlo Hall and The Field of Angels.
