Tanglewood, 297 West St., is the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the home of the Tanglewood Music Center. The 550-acre estate includes Hawthorne Cottage, where Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote several books. Recitals, student concerts, chamber music and larger works are held in the Koussevitzky Music Shed and Seiji Ozawa Hall.
