Classic Historic. Visitors can take a trip back in time at this 18th-century inn, while enjoying the rustic charm and ambiance of this Colonial inn. A gristmill provides ground cornmeal and wheat for the homemade bread and signature corn muffins. Equal attention is paid to roast prime beef, seafood pie, fresh fish, duck and chicken. Finish with a homemade dessert like Indian pudding. The original tavern was first used as a public gathering place in 1716. Most of the inn was lost in a fire in the 1950s and was rebuilt in 1956 with a grant from the Ford Foundation.
