Bethel Historical Society, 10 Broad St., features the restored 1813 Federal-style home of Dr. Moses Mason, physician and U.S. congressman. The home contains nine rooms and is furnished in period. Of special interest are the Rufus Porter School murals depicting seascapes and foliage. A research library is available; an exhibit hall contains changing exhibits. The O'Neil Robinson House, built in 1821, has changing exhibits. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
Mason House museum $3; $1.50 (ages 6-12). Donations are accepted for the Robinson House, the exhibit hall and use of the research library.
