Maine Forest and Logging Museum, n. on SR 9, 4.5 mi. n. on SR 178, then 1.25 mi. e. to 686 Government Rd., allows visitors a glimpse into the area's forestry and logging history. Visitors pass a Lombard log hauler and a machine shop before crossing Blackman Stream through a covered bridge on foot. The site contains a sawmill powered by a water wheel as well as a blacksmith shop, a settler's house, a log cabin, a stone dam and nature trails. Special events are held year-round.
Note: Dogs are not permitted on the museum grounds.
