Borestone Mountain Audubon Sanctuary is 16.6 mi. n. on SR 150 off Mountain Rd. Highlights of this 1,600-acre property in Maine's Hundred Mile Wilderness region include two hiking trails affording panoramic views, an old growth forest, three spring-fed alpine ponds and plenty of wildlife viewing. A nature center provides exhibits and is reached via a .8-mi. hike from the entrance. Picnicking is permitted.
