Washburn-Norlands Living History Center, 1 mi. n. on SR 4, 1.2 mi. e. on SR 108, then 1.8 mi. n. on Norlands Rd., is a working farm and the former estate of the Washburn family. The center now operates as an educational facility offering a glimpse into 19th-century life in rural Maine. The 445-acre estate includes a one-room schoolhouse, a stone library, a Universalist meeting house, the Washburn family mansion, and a farmer's cottage and barn.
