Monhegan Museum is at 1 Lighthouse Hill in the Monhegan Light Station, accessible via ferry from New Harbor, Port Clyde or Boothbay Harbor. The museum documents the history of Monhegan Island, with exhibits covering early Native Americans, the arrival of European explorers, the fishing industry, local art colony and the lighthouse. Of particular note is the art collection which includes works by Rockwell Kent, George Bellows, Andrew Wyeth, Robert Henri, Edward Redfield and other American masters.
