Thuya Garden is accessed via the Asticou Terraces gravel parking area, 1 mi. w. on Harborside Rd. to jct. SR 198, then 1 mi. s. on SR 3. The .25-mile Terrace Trail affords beautiful views of Northeast Harbor from several terraces and lookout points along the granite hillside. At the top, semi-formal English gardens, indigenous eastern Maine woodlands, winding paths and a reflecting pool comprise Thuya Garden.
The Asticou Terraces trail is fairly steep and includes stairs. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. A handicap entrance and accessible parking lot can be reached via Thuya Drive; parking is limited.
Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
