This property is atop a knoll within what was once Ft. McKinley. Built during the Spanish American War, it remained a military base through World War II. Today the main barracks is a luxury hotel. The guest rooms and suites are beautifully designed and have luxurious linens and furnishings; many have a gas fireplace for added ambience. Access to this island hotel is through Casco Bay Lines in Portland and the hotel can arrange for valet parking near the ferry. Guests should contact the hotel prior to arrival for valet arrangements and pickup service from the ferry to the hotel. This hotel typically operates between Memorial and Labor Day weekends.
