I booked two rooms so our guests could join us for a nice dinner out. I was pretty excited and phoned reservation to ask if there was a way we could secure a good room with a view. Reservations assured that the rooms weren't assigned and that wouldn't be a problem. Upon checking in we were given a very sad view on the 3rd floor with a cement roof and vent. The room was also dirty. When I went back to inquire if we could move, I was told "we're sold out" I've stayed at other Star wood properties and I expected more; both with the room and the service. At that point, we decided not to stay until Monday and cancelled our Sunday to Monday booking.
Pros: The lobby and lounge were really beautiful with a great location. The rainwater shower was a hit.
Cons: Room was dirty and not up the Star wood properties standard. Front desk service was unacceptable. My AAA booking came with free full breakfast, they never gave me the vouchers at check in, they begrudgingly gave them to us once we went back and asked; the second day, I called room service before checking out as I was told we could use the voucher for room service. The front desk charged me the whole price, no voucher given, despite it being listed in the room description as a AAA deal.

Great Hotel downtown, harborview depends upon your vantage point. From 11th floor window great view of downtown. Westin has done a great job on the old Eastland Hotel. Never been dissappointed by a Westin stay including this hotel! Comfortable beds, Selection of TV channels for entertainment. Also plenty of ports for charging our technology. If your an SPG member you have access to free wifi, we're not but thats ok, dealt with it. Parking options self park for $25 at garage next to building or $34 for valet Parking took the self park option. The garage easily acccessible from the hotel. For a last minute reservation price was right. Unfortunately we couldn't experience the roof top bar there is always next time. I would definitely return and refer others to stay here!
Pros: Location was great as you can walk to wherever you wanted to go. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Easy accessible garage to park our car. Comfortable beds. Complimentary water and coffee in room
Cons: No Free wi fi unless your an SPG member.

Traveling as Couple
Pros: The hotel design at the public spaces and room was nice. Rooftop bar (enclosed) was a cool feature. Beds were comfortable.
Cons: Visited the rooftop bar during daylight and at night. At night, I felt the lighting needed to be dimmer more appropriate for a lounge atmosphere. As a bonus if dimmed, some of the lighthouses, area restaurants, water, etc. could be seen.
Family with Teens
Pros: great location, excellent and helpful staff, real anbassadors for the city of portland.
Cons: that I could not stay longer!
Cons: The $34 parking fee!
