Dyer Library and Saco Museum are in two historic buildings at 371 Main St. The Dyer Library, in the 19th-century Deering House, has changing exhibits of local art and a circulating collection of more than 55,000 volumes. The Saco Museum, founded in 1866, contains changing exhibits exploring local and regional history as well as folk, fine and decorative arts. The museum also has a large collection of portraits by American folk art painter John Brewster Jr.
Library free. Museum $5; $3 (ages 65+); $2 (ages 7-18 and students with ID); free (ages 0-6 and to all Fri. 4-8).
Hours: Library Mon.-Fri. 9:30-5 (also Tues. and Thurs. 5-8), Sat. 9:30-12:30. Museum Tues.-Thurs. noon-4, Fri. noon-8, Sat. 10-4 (also Sun. noon-4, June 1-Dec. 15).
