AAA Editor Notes
Hamlin Memorial Library and Museum, off Paris Hill Rd. at 16 Hannibal Hamlin Dr., is in a converted 1822 Oxford County jail. The library has a collection of papers, paintings and artifacts circa 1850, including some belonging to Hannibal Hamlin, vice president under Abraham Lincoln, and Hamlin's family. Also noteworthy is an early 1800s map of the Rangeley Lakes region drawn on birch bark.
