Colby College Museum of Art is at 5600 Mayflower Hill Dr., in Bixler Art and Music Center on the Colby College campus. The museum's focus is American art from the early 18th century through the present. Among the artists represented are Mary Cassatt, Marsden Hartley, Joan Mitchell, Alex Katz, Maya Lin, Martin Puryear, Richard Serra, Kiki Smith and Terry Winters. The Alfond-Lunder Family Pavilion contains more than 500 works of art, including paintings by Fredric Church, Winslow Homer, Donald Judd, John Chamberlain and Georgia O’Keeffe. Of special interest is the large collection of works by James McNeill Whistler. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
