Maine State Aquarium is at 194 McKown Point Rd. A gallery evoking Maine's coast holds viewing tanks filled with regional fish and invertebrates. Colorful lobsters, sharks and sport fish may be seen. Sea creatures including sea stars, crabs and sea cucumbers reside in a 20-foot-long touch tank; sharks and invertebrates reside in a second touch tank. A display teaches visitors about lobster trapping, and sport fishing is available off the dock. Presentations are offered daily in the aquarium and in the Discovery Center.
