Living Prairie Museum

Living Prairie Museum is at 2795 Ness Ave. This 12-hectare (30-acre) unplowed tract of tall grass is a remnant of the prairie that once covered much of North America. Hike the trails to see more than 160 species of plants and native wildlife. An interpretive center features prairie displays and an observation deck. Nature talks and guided hikes are offered, and a self-guiding trail brochure is available. The annual Monarch Butterfly Festival is held in mid-July and includes workshops, family-friendly crafts, a butterfly release and free milkweed.
