Cylburn Arboretum, 4915 Greenspring Ave., is 207 acres and contains marked trails; a garden of the senses for the physically impaired; an all-American garden; an herb garden; the Heritage Rose Garden, which features species more than 100 years old; and a formal garden. The visitor center offers an orientation video and maps. A post-Civil War mansion can be toured; highlights include fireplaces, mosaics and tapestries. A nature museum includes exhibits of birds, rocks and minerals, fossils and seashells, and habitat dioramas.
Special events are held throughout the year. Guided tours are available by appointment.
