Maryland Science Center, IMAX Theater and Davis Planetarium, 601 Light St. at the Inner Harbor, has three levels of hands-on exhibits and a rooftop observatory. The Dinosaur Mysteries exhibit features full-size dinosaurs and interactive paleontology activities. The human body is featured in Cells: The Universe Inside Us. Other exhibits include Science & Main, SpaceLink, Power Up! and Life Beyond Earth. Science Encounter presentations include Science on a Sphere. Visitors can design and create projects in The Shed. SciLab experiments are geared toward students in third grade and higher. The Kids Room is a special play area designed for children under 8. Traveling exhibits are featured throughout the year.

Multimedia presentations are offered in Davis Planetarium. Full-length documentaries are played in the five-story St. John Properties IMAX theater.

Food is available. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.

Daily 10-6 (also Fri.-Sat. 6-8 p.m.), mid-June through Labor Day; Mon.-Sat. 10-5 (also Sat. 5-6), Sun. 11-5, early Mar. to mid-June; Tues.-Fri. 10-5 (also Fri. 5-8), Sat. 10-6, Sun. 11-5, rest of year. Closed Columbus Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
