Historic London Town and Gardens, 2 mi. e. via SR 253 to 839 Londontown Rd., is a 23-acre park and museum. The Historic Area includes the mid-18th century William Brown House, reconstructed Colonial buildings and a continuing archaeological project focused on gathering information about the “lost town” of London. A permanent exhibit offers displays about early settlement in the Chesapeake region. The 8-acre Woodland Garden features a 1-mile trail where visitors can observe native and exotic plant species. Seasonal ornamental gardens overlook the South River.
Special events and programs are held during the year.

Apr.-Dec. $10; $9 (ages 62+); $5 (ages 7-18). Admission rest of year $5 (per person).
Hours: Wed.-Sat. 10-4:30, Sun. noon-4:30, Apr.-Dec. Guided tours are given Wed.-Fri. at 10:30, 1 and 3. Self-guiding tours of grounds and historic area only Mon.-Fri. 10-4, rest of year (weather permitting). Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas.
