Great Property and Very Nice...
Pros: Went to visit my son and was looking for a place near his home. This Home2 Suites popped up and I decided to give it a try. (It's part of the Hilton chain so I get Hhonors points for staying there.)
They didn't have my Hhonors number with my reservation so that took awhile to straighten out because they couldn't look it up and I had to find it but, other than that, checkin was very smooth and the two ladies working the front desk couldn't have been any nicer.
This is a new property so everything is fresh and new. There's an indoor pool, a fitness center and a washer and dryer.
The rooms were great. Large TV, nice desk, the wifi worked well though the part about having to reenter your name and room number every 24 hours was a real pain in the butt. The rooms had a refrigerator, microwave, sink, dishes, cups, a dishwasher, glasses and a toaster. Everything you'd need to stay and cook all of your own meals if you're so inclined. We didn't but having the dishes and refrigerator was nice.
The bed was very comfortable. It was firm and the pillows were soft which suited our tastes perfectly. The heat and a/c worked well. We used both while we were there.
They have a shuttle that runs to the airport every 30 minutes. They were pretty close to on time and it was super convenient. It's about a 15 minute trip.
The property was immaculate and the staff were outstanding. I have no problem with recommending it if you're in the area. (It's just down the street from the Arundel Mills casino and their shuttle goes there too if that's your cup of tea.)
Cons: They serve breakfast every morning from 6am-9am on weekdays and 7am to 10am on weekends. Breakfast was "ok". It was good but nothing outstanding. They had juices, cereal, yogurt with all sorts of topping you could put on it, pastries, bagels, english muffins, milk, bread, a couple of Belgian waffle makers, hard boiled eggs and some prepackaged breakfast sandwiches and scrambled egg dishes. Those had a number on them and you put it in the microwave and pressed that number. They were edible but nothing to write home about. I wish they'd had some more "hot food" choices. I tried this stuff one day and the other days I had pastries or muffins with something on them.
There was an ice machine on every floor but the only snack and soda concessions were at a "pantry" area next to the front desk. So it wasn't as convenient as having machines on your floor. But you could just take things and ask them to add it to your room bill so that was convenient.
My only complaint is that they charged $4 for a 16oz soda. I expect to be screwed at a ball game or inside of security at an airport and I understand paying more for convenience but $4 is ridiculous. It really detracted for the great experience otherwise.
