Pros: Setting was beautiful. Excellent fitness room and pool. On the weekend it was almost empty
Cons: Room was small. Check out by 10am was a bit inconvenient
Pros: The grounds are spacious and beautiful. Staff was friendly. Location was convenient for our needs.
Cons: Advertised shuttles run only very limited times. Room was small, but adequate. Very disjointed property - many buildings. It's a Post Office training center that rents out its extra rooms. I think I'd have been fine by myself, but it was a little too cozy for two of us. Extra charges for microwave or fridge - not good.
Pros: Space and atmosphere....
Cons: Mildew smell in room
Cons: nothing to eat after 9pm
Cons: Room was small
Pros: When my taxi did not show up in the morning, a member of staff took me to my destination in her private car: excellent service!
Cons: The hotel is far from any public transportation and too far from special locations such as the Great Falls to walk there. It is probably ideal for conferences, but less so for tourists.
family with young children
Pros: The location was a very peaceful setting to get away from the hustle and bustle of DC.
Cons: The rooms were very small.
Pros: The clerk at 1am was amazingly friendly. The rooms are easy to find and the in room accommodations were good for the price.
Cons: The beds were quite uncomfortable. They were pretty hard, plus they were not accommodating for someone over 5'10. I'm 6'3 and my feet were definitely hanging off the bottom all night. For the price of the rooms some breakfast should be included.
Pros: With the exception of the reuben sandwich I had at the bar, everything else about this place was awful.
Cons: Everything. It was like staying in a dirty and Tiny college dorm room. The air conditioning barely worked and the internet was too spotty to be considered Wi-Fi. And pay $190 including tax for this is depressing.
Pros: Beautiful grounds and lovely receptionists
Cons: My room was pretty small with no space to put my open small suitcase, but given that every hotel in the DC metro area was completely booked, I probably got the only room left
Pros: Room was very clean and comfortable.
Cons: The house keeper literally woke me up at 9 am in the morning knocking my door for no reason. Also, around 10:30 am the front desk lady came to my room without knocking the door and dropped the receipt while I was sleeping. So unprofessional and didn't give me a privacy at all. Who would do that ? Bad, bad, bad
Pros: The breakfast
Cons: small room, small bed
Pros: The setting is park-like and lovely, a true getaway in the area around Washington DC. Buildings are 1940's era and the rooms are small but very clean. Coffee in room and real glass for your drinks. The place still is used as a USPS training and conference area. Parking is perfect and free! Breakfast is fantastic and only $12 for the buffet. Was very surprised this gem existed in the area and will go back again and again.
Cons: Nothing. It truly was a genuine surprise - neat, clean, lovely surroundings, and easy parking and nice rooms. Not modern, but nice and very usable.
Pros: The location and park-like setting are very nice.
Cons: Although the main building has been brought up to date, the mechanicals are in full sight and, moreover, the heating and cooling system is not really adjustable in the rooms. Bathrooms are circa 70s and need updating as does the decor. We were there during Thanksgiving, but still there was only one person at the desk and one lone waitress in dining room. We even had to ask her to find the cook at the omelet station. Also, still waiting for a reply from concierge re lost charger.
