Adkins Arboretum is at 12610 Eveland Rd. Within the arboretum's 400 acres are 5 miles of trails that traverse meadows, a hardwood forest, gardens, wetland and lush bottomland. The visitor center offers a gallery featuring works by local artists. Outdoor sculptures with natural flora are displayed during the summer.
Two self-guiding audio tours are available; one tour describes the connection between the Underground Railroad and nature, and the other tour provides an overview of the arboretum's plantings.
