Godiah Spray Tobacco Plantation is at Historic St. Mary's City off Rosecroft Rd.; access begins from the visitor center off SR 5 at 18751 Hogaboom Ln. This working re-creation of a 17th-century tobacco plantation consists of the main dwelling house, barns, crop fields, gardens, livestock and orchards. Interpreters in period attire perform the tasks that would have consumed the lives of the family and servants of Godiah Spray—a 17th-century term for an average man, similar to today's John Doe.
