Town Center

Town Center is at Historic St. Mary's City off Old State House Rd.; access begins from the visitor center off SR 5 at 18751 Hogaboom Ln. The complex includes Smith's Ordinary, a reconstructed 17th-century inn; Cordea's Hope, a mercantile; the Van Sweringen site exhibit; several ghost frames representing 17th-century buildings; a re-creation of a print house, the original of which stood in 1684; the State House, a reconstruction of the 1676 building; and the Brick Chapel, symbolizing early Maryland's liberal policies toward religious freedom and the founding of the Roman Catholic Church in English America.
