Catoctin Mountain Park, 2 mi. w. on SR 77, is affiliated with the National Park System and offers self-guiding nature trails, a bridle trail, picnicking, fishing, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing . A visitor center just off SR 77 has information about interpretive programs. The Blue Blazes Still, a typical example of an 18th-century still used during Prohibition, can be seen. Camp David, the presidential retreat, is within the park but cannot be visited. Camping is available by advance reservation. Additional recreational facilities are in adjoining Cunningham Falls State Park.
