An authentically restored Queen Anne-style former sea captain's mansion is furnished with antiques and artsy touches. Served every afternoon are complimentary cookies or another sweet treat. Three of the rooms have fireplaces and one has a claw foot tub. Two amazing 100- to 150-year-old Beech trees grace the property; one weeps over the road that guests drive under to reach the inn.
Smoke free premises. 6 units. 3 stories (no elevator), interior/exterior corridors.
Pros: Beautiful home, yummy breakfast, great hospitality. Very relaxed stay in a quaint neighborhood, located near good eats and plenty of things to do. Innkeepers Julie and Joe were super friendly, accommodating. They offered a great deal of knowledge on restaurants, attractions and activities of the Cape. My fiancé and I truly enjoyed our stay, would highly recommend this b&b.
Comfortable and cozy Bed and...
Pros: The host was very personable and knowledgeable of the area. The breakfast was great.
Cons: Didn't provide fresh towels daily. Rooms missing smoke alarms. Would have been nice to have provided bottled water.
Cons: Nothing. If you like old buildings with a lot of character, this is the place for you. Don't come if you want a modern, faceless hotel.
Nice weekend retreat.
Pros: Nice property for the area and close to the highways for easy access. Proprietors were very friendly and non-intrusive. A 4-course breakfast was a welcomed delight for our return to Boston.
Cons: Personal comfort items were not available (soap for shower, top sheet missing from one bed, blanket missing from one bed, no kleenex tissue, only one water glass provided.) TV (although not high on the priority list) is old school and poor reception.
Pros: Bed & bedding were excellent; individual thermostat controlled temps was nice to have on an autumn visit; very quiet and cozy.
Cons: Would prefer owners on-site to greet, no staff around was off-putting, spooky; no self-serve coffee in the a.m.; no savory option for breakfast item.
Cons: Old house smell, room was in attic, breakfast was a joke
family with older children
Pros: towels were fluffy
Keurig in dining room
window air conditioner was adequate
Cons: shower needed scrubbing
bar soap was not provided in bathroom
bedroom windows needed cleaning
same breakfast 2 days in a row
porch boards are broken in places
decor needs updating
landscaping is minimal
Not ready for prime time.
Pros: Owners seemed nice enough although not sufficiently attentive. Barnstable a cute village . Breakfast was pleasant . Appreciated being able to stay for just one night.
Cons: Place is very run down. Room really not fit for rental. Unable to stand up without hitting ceiling. Bathroom on different floor. No vent or Windows that opened in bathroom. Porch sloping . Hard to walk anywhere from location and difficult to get out of driveway due to limited visibility .

Pros: Nice king bed, very comfortable. You have to like something different than a regular hotel. Its rustic and we loved it!
Disappointed on many levels...
Cons: The inn is in need of repair work and updating. Frankly, I believe this residence is too much to handle for this working couple. On a scale of 1-10, I would give it a 2 and would not recommend it.
