Beverly Historical Society and Museum, 117 Cabot St., is an umbrella organization managing three local historic homes. Balch House and Cabot House are accessible by guided tour. Hale Farm, 39 Hale St., was built in 1694 for the community's first minister, the Rev. John Hale, now a well-known participant in the Salem Witch Trials.
Hale Farm $5; $4 (ages 65+ and students with ID); free (ages 0-15).
Hours: Hale Farm open Sat. 11-3, June 1-late Oct. (also Fri. 11-3, in Aug.).
