AAA Editor Notes
Boston Light Tour departs from the Boston Harbor Islands Pavilion on the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway at 191 W. Atlantic Ave. (opposite Faneuil Hall Marketplace). On the 3.5-hour tour of Little Brewster Island, part of Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area, rangers relate the history of the area's lighthouses and maritime traditions. A stop at what is said to be the first lighthouse site in the country is included. Visitors may climb 76 spiraling steps and two ladders to the top of Boston Light's tower to see its Fresnel lens.
Note: To climb the lighthouse, children must be at least 8 years of age and 50 inches tall.
Guided tours are available.
